BIOGRAPHY

Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1971, Kevin Morrison attributes some of his artistic talent from his late grandmother on his mother's side.  His story-writing talents, however, actually come from a real life experience.  One day long ago when Kevin was at a video rental store he was depressed about the many low-grade movies that were on display for rent and the quality of their content.  Then it occurred to Kevin, "Why not write something spectacular!"  From that moment on Kevin started asking co-workers what they felt would be something they might like to read about.  As the ideas started to develop they went onto paper.  From paper the ideas started becoming parts of fantastic stories.  As Kevin began developing his plots he fell back on his technical writing skills learned in school and throughout his studies at Harrisburg Area Community College.  He was determined to write material that people would not be able to put down, once they began reading.  As Kevin continued his writings he would constantly look for inspirations from all things around him.  His hobbies which include watching movies, role-playing, videogames, and martial arts also continue to generate ideas for his unique concepts in the fantasy realm works.
Kevin's earlier writings were only the cornerstone for his current book.  As friends and co-workers began reading some of his material they were able to provide invaluable ideas that helped to shape his writing.  Kevin believed that he was genuinely on to something, but had no idea what the future had in store for him.  Looking for something that would continue to fuel his hunger for his writing Kevin was encouraged by a close friend, that was also an avid reader of sci-fi/fantasy, to take his collection of short stories and consider turning them into a series of novels.  From that moment going forward Kevin began revising his stories into a manuscript format.  After much review by friends over the quality of the storyline Kevin knew it was time to search out a publisher that might be interested in printing his first fiction/fantasy novel.
Kevin assures us that his first novel, "The Accursed Realm: The Blood Gem" is just the beginning and that, in fact, he will continue his endeavors in writing by engaging in other fantasy world creations.  Within his fantasy realm there are characters that will star in their own novels in places and times similar to the ones you'll read about in his latest novel.  With Kevin's creative imagination you can rest assured that there will be many more books to come.  So, please check out Kevin Morrison's latest creation - a fiction/ fantasy novel, which lends credit to a world that seems so real that you actually feel like you're a part of the adventure!

There are three things I love to do creatively.  They are drawing, writing, and role-playing.

Drawing – I mainly do drawings with a mechanical pencil using either red or blue lead.  When I do character designs, they are mostly done on regular white 8 ½ by 11inch paper with red lead.  Red lead is more forgiving than regular lead and tends not to smear as much.  When I do more serious artwork and shading is involved then I use blue lead on either the same paper or on a manga-styled art paper, if the image is somewhat larger and more complex.  Recently, I have been experimenting with a unique tarot card deck design and or dark fantasy images as well.  

Writing – I mainly write stories and have the most fun with character development and interactions as well as backgrounds and how they tie other characters together.  From time to time I have experimented with my realm of fantasy in order to develop a role-playing system as a future project.  In that sense it gives me more room with creativity as well another dimension as I choreograph events around a role-playing session.  Other than that I have worked on writing songs for various characters in stories to sing or to be inserted to add to the atmosphere of the location of the story. 

Hobbies – I love playing videogames, such as role-playing, action, and fighting.  For physical fun I do engage in the martial arts.  Reading, which competes for some of my time, centers on comics, horror novels, and some graphic novels.  I also love to travel to new places and like to go to conventions involving horror and anime.

Other entertainment – I am a movie buff and my taste ranges quite a bit.  I like action, horror, sci-fi, and fantasy movies mostly.  I seldom like dramas, but do like ones with a good story and a decent ending.  I do like some comedies, but I prefer the cleaner ones and the less stupid variety, since I am a hard sell on that category.  I also have a thing for animation, American and Japanese.  I love the classic cartoons, like Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Woody Woodpecker, and Disney to say a few.  Of course my range of taste in Anime is a long list.
