Chaotic Age

Technology was very simple at this time.  Life centered mainly on survival as the free humans were battling the creatures of the night or helping others in their tribe.  Every household had no plumbing, simple gardens of vegetables, and simple tools for every day tasks.  People rode horses, paddled small canoes, or simply walked to satisfy their transportation needs.  Weapons were made out of bones or simple metals and required no maintenance.  Depending on the person or group, various blades, spears, arrows, and slingshots were used.  Some daggers, and spear and arrow tips were made of silver, since most creatures of the night have a weakness toward it; otherwise they were made of bone or wood.  Medicine was created by the use of refining herbs and animal extracts.  Medical treatment was rendered by use of medicine, or healing magic.

All tribes consisted of small groups living in caves or treetops of a large forest.  Obviously, a chief and chiefess sat on a throne at this time to rule over the tribe.  All of the tribe were warriors, but the chief had three different types assigned to guard different things.  One group was small set of bodyguards to protect the chief at all times within the area.  Another set watch over the prisoners and help maintain order with the law of the tribe.  The third group was a set of lookouts to warn the tribe of impending threats.  At this time lawbreakers were brought before the chief to settle disputes and pass judgment on the law broken.  A lawbreaker was on his own and had to convince the chief that he was innocent or had just cause as to why he broke the law.  The chief was merciful and would let the offender go if convinced to do so.  If not the chief chose a punishment, banished the offender, or had him killed.
